What does 12-5 L17 for 70% mean?
12-5 L17 for 70% translates to: "12 wins and 5 losses in the most recent 17 attempts for 70%." These "attempts" sometimes span back to the previous year, but are always in reverse chronological order starting TODAY. This is known in the industry as a "streak." Streaks are an important factor in reviewing a Handicapper's performance. Who cares how the Handicapper did 2 years ago? SportsChronicles.com believes you want to know how he's doing over his most recent attempts. By allowing the Handicappers to only highlight their most recent chronological performance or "streaks" (such as 5-1 L6), the Handicappers are forced to speak to the issue of their most CURRENT records. Many of you have seen Danny Sheridan's ads in the trades promoting his successes in 1975-1978. You've all seen ads in the papers advertising "So and So's" #1 rating last year, or the fact that Joe Capper is so great because he won the Hilton or Castaway's contest in 1992. SportsChronicles.com does not believe that this type of promotion makes any sense whatsoever. The customer adage of: "What have you done for me lately?" - should play a much more important factor in your decision making process. All visitors to the SportsChronicles.com website will be allowed to search for Handicappers based on key criteria such as: sport, category, percentage, number of games, and etc. This allows SportsChronicles.com's valued customers to select a Handicapper based on his performance records rather than his hype. SportsChronicles.com believe's this important factor is lacking in the industry.
